Friday Night Biergarten

Last night the balmy summer weather beckoned to us. We hopped on our bikes and rode over to a local biergarten located in the middle of a gorgeous park.

We parked the bikes...



...and saddled up to a table with two frosty beers. Cheers!



After a few sips we realized we were ready for dinner so we ordered a flammkuchen (more or less German pizza) and a currywurst:



The flammkuchen stole the show! We sat, ate, and drank for a few hours before we hopped on our bikes for the ride home.

We stumbled upon this little biergarten last week on an evening bike ride and after our first official visit we know we'll be back for more. The biergarten, with it's beautiful scenery and laid-back atmosphere, is only a 5 minute ride from our hotel! It's a lovely place to spend a Friday evening in the summer.

Inaugural Bike Ride

Last night after work the warm weather and bright sun beckoned us out for an evening bike ride. Eager to try my new wheels, I was very excited! Just minutes from our hotel we have lovely forested trails that are peppered with small groves and picnic areas.

Side note: You can see in the photo above that the streamers were in full force. I got many smiles/giggles from people we rode past clearly appreciating my festive handlebar accessories.

After exploring the paths for about an hour we made our way back home, sweaty and sun-kissed. We had an awesome time and can't wait to go on more fun evening rides!

Summer Sunday in Stuttgart

Although it's technically not summer, it sure felt like it today! The rain finally stopped and out came the sun. It was in the 70's today so we decided we must be outside. Brian's friend, Jeff, was going to play some intramural soccer so Brian joined it and I lounged in the sun and read. The boys played...

...while I gazed up at the masterpiece that was the brilliantly blue sky.

Once soccer was done we hung out with Jeff and Marissa eating sandwiches and soaking up as much Vitamin D as possible. After we had our fill we headed over to the PX to pick up a few essentials and came across this beauty...



...my new bike! Now Brian and I will be able to go on bike rides all over town. Oh, and what's a fun summer bike without some streamers blowing in the wind?!



This summer weather has me all excited to get this pretty lady out on the road for some fun rides. Now we're off to get Indian food for dinner. What a great Sunday!
