On Sunday we drove from Brussels to Bruges for a fun little day trip. The weather was ridiculously windy, but we still fell in love with Bruges. Here are some shots walking in to the heart of Bruges:

We found the main town square:
We also found the Bruges Belfort (belfry) that was made so famous from the movie In Bruges (which, incidentally, if you haven't seen, you really should):
I even found my very own Tintin and Snowy!
We learned this trip that Brian's favorite comic from childhood, Tintin, was created by a Belgian artist.
Next we enjoyed a windy, but delicious lunch in the town square while someone took a snooze:
After that we walked up and down the charming streets of Bruges and sampled some fantastic Belgian chocolate. Swoon! As we made our way back to the car, we stumbled upon one of the many enchanting canals that surround Bruges:

Our fun day in Bruges reinforced our growing love of Belgium.

We want to send warm Happy Birthday wishes to our awesome sister, Kristen!
Hope you have a fantastic celebration Down Under!

Hi - you don't know me from Adam, but Julie Hocking is a good friend of mine and she turned me onto your blog. I would so love to see Bruges. loved the movie and fell in love with the city from the marvelous cinematography. It's so fun watching you three explore things. And Toby is adorable.
