One thing we've learned about the German people is that they love a good festival, particularly in during the summer months. Starting in July and going through September, there is at least one or two festivals taking place somewhere in the greater Stuttgart area. Lucky for us, we were around this weekend to take part in:
Sommerfest is a festival comprised of international food, drink and music and takes place in downtown Stuttgart along the Schlossplatz (Palace Square). Here we are with the new Schloss in the background:

There was delectable food booth after delectable food booth. We didn't know where to start so after some perusing we went with the following:
An Argentinian empanada, a flammkuchen, and spicy seafood pasta
After we fueled up, we explored more of the booths until we found a suitable beer booth for some cool refreshments. The ladies:
Then there was some more walking around, some ice cream, and perhaps one or two more drinks before we hopped on the train back to Sindelfingen. We had a great time at Sommerfest enjoying the warm weather and festive mood. Strangest thing we saw at Sommerfest, Tree Lady:

Gotta love Germany and their unique festivals!
